CHAMPION OF HOPE APPLICATION
The Arctic Hope Project (AHP) is a specialized ministry focused on the spiritual, emotional and practical needs of Canada's indigenous people in the north. Suicide, physical and sexual abuse, addictions and depression are many times higher in Inuit and First Nations communities than in the rest of Canada. Young people have suffered the effects of these social ills that have passed from generation to generation.
The Arctic Hope Project (AHP) exists with several unique sub projects such as Champions of Hope (COH). COH presents the Gospel and ministers to all ages to see these generational curses broken and to ensure the youth grow up in a spiritually healthy and loving atmosphere. COH works in close communication with and under the blessing of local elders, mayors and pastors.
Teams will initially spend approximately 1 week in a community, conducting Gospel meetings and leading group sessions with Inuit people, focusing on:
** Transformation of lives: salvations, healing, and deliverance from bondages.
** Empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
** Development of local leaders
** Multiplication of the Church.
Team members will be involved with in-person ministry and follow-up sessions conducted virtually. Where possible, local spiritual leaders will be encouraged to get involved in the COH training sessions and to be available for ministry to COH disciples upon request.
COH TEAM MEMBER TRAINING & APPLICATION PROCESS: Applicants must be mature, committed Spirit-filled believers, willing to go through a training process to prepare them to minister to the needs of Indigenous people. This equipping process will include both spiritual and practical tools for effective ministry in the context of a community’s history and cultural sensitivities.
Travel to the Arctic and remote northern First Nations communities is costly. Team members will be required to raise $2000 of the total cost and TGM will subsidize the remainder. A deposit of $200 is required with application. He/she must fill out an application form, agree to adhere to AHP’s Code of Conduct, and provide two (2) references, including his/her local pastor/leader.
